Best Ways To Exercise Outdoors In Summer

Summer is finally here! That means it’s high time you embrace the open-air, and enjoy the wonderful sights, sounds, and smells of the summertime. One of the best ways to get out more, if you find yourself stuck on the couch watching yet another Netflix series, is to exercise. Summer is the perfect time and opportunity to start exercising because the weather is so good  you will feel so much better than trying to get a full body workout in the bleak midwinter. Are there any great ways to get some exercise outside? Duh, there are plenty of ways!

Bike Riding

The best way to get some quality exercise while out in the open is to head out on your bike. You can go up hills, down country roads, or just join the traffic. However, riding a bike in the middle of summer, when they are so many cars around, can be dangerous. If you’re not careful,  you might even get hit on your bicycle just because you’re not paying attention to the road, or you’ve chosen a path that’s a bit too dangerous to ride on. Since not every road has lanes for bikers, it is far better to go on roads and lanes that you know well when you start exercising on your bike. Be sure you are clued up in every aspect of bicycle safety, especially if you want to indulge in a night time bike ride.

Circuits

If riding bikes sounds too dangerous for you, you can exercise in a park! You can get a good quality intense workout by creating a little circuit for you to complete. People think that to get a good workout in, you have to go to the gym, but this is absolutely nonsense! All you need are the basics, from your squats to your press ups and burpees, as well as the ability to run, and you can get a comprehensive workout. Once you get used to a certain level of circuit training, you can up the stakes, and start with high intensity interval training.

Going For A Walk

The humble walk is seldom discussed with regards to a good quality outdoor workout. But if you are a novice in the exercise world, having a regular walk every day is a perfect method to acclimatize yourself to some cardiovascular exercise. The great thing about walking is that it’s very easy on the joints, and it can help you burn some calories. Granted, not as many calories as going for a run, but you can go for a brisk walk for 30 minutes every day, and see some fantastic results.

The important thing to remember when starting any exercise routine is to take it easy. You don’t want to go too hard too quickly, as this will put you off exercising. The summer is a fantastic time to get into the swing of things because the weather is fantastic. By getting outdoors and taking in some good quality fresh, you are doing wonders for your body and mind. So, regardless of your skill sets, from beginner to expert, getting outside is a change we can all benefit from.
