I love listening to podcasts. I have been listening to them every day during my drive to work. It helps me feel productive when I can’t really do anything else, especially since I am stuck in the traffic jam like, every single day. I love it because instead of listening to the same pop songs on repeat on the radio, I’m getting new information and learning new stuff every day. Some of them, like Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness, is super entertaining too!
As 2019 just began, many of my favourite podcast hosts posted content related to the new years. Many of them helped me significantly in setting my intention and navigating my resolutions for the year. I’m sharing them here with you because I want you to benefit from them too! The 5 Podcasts You Have to Listen This New Year are:
1. Choose a One-Word Theme for the Year
Every year, I would come up with a “Word of the Year” that would become my mantra and reminder for my intention. It is interesting to listen to Gretchen and Elizabeth (co-host in this episode) talk about their words and intention, and listen to their many suggestions on words that can be chosen for your “Word of the Year”.
2. Daily Habits that Change the Game with Brendon Burchard
by RISE podcast
In my previous years of setting New Year’s resolutions, many of them were habit based – to scroll less on social media, drink more water, read more books, etc. It isn’t hard to build new habits, as we are creating new routines that our brain and body aren’t familiar with. In this episode, Brendon Burchard shares some great research-based tips on setting daily habits.
3. 5 Myths That Hold You Back from Achieving Your Goals
For those who already have goals but are not confident in achieving them, this episode is perfect for you. As a self made entrepreneur, Kelly broke down these 5 myths in a very relatable and easy to understand way. I can’t deny that I’m being a little bit biased to feature this because of how proud I am of my dear friend to have come so far in her business!
4. My Biggest Wins and Losses of the Year
After listening to many forward thinking, future goal planning podcast episodes, I find listening to the wins and losses of someone successful to be very insightful. I’ve always loved Lewis’ podcast, and to listen to how much he’s achieved (and learned) in 2018 alone is so damn inspiring!
5. 7 Beliefs of Emotionally Healthy People
Lastly, something that is not specifically for the new year but worth mentioning. This 15 minutes podcast by Dr. Ellen Hendriksen shares some really good beliefs that can help us be more emotionally healthy life in 2019. After all, we’re all seeking to be more happy in our lives right? 😉
