Things To See And Do In The Land Down Under

Australia is a beautiful country. If you want to explore new and seemingly-endless horizons, then this is the destination for you. With a vast landscape to offer, it is impossible for you to have “seen it all” when it comes to Australia. You know there’s always more that can be explored. Your journey can be as long or as short as you want. It all depends on the kind of experience you’re looking to have. You don’t even need a travel companion; you will always meet new people on your trip. Most importantly, you’ll be meeting travellers with the same mindset as you. If you’re wondering where to begin to travel in the land down under, then this list of things to see and do should give you some inspiration.

Brisbane

One of the best cities to visit in Queensland is Brisbane. The north-eastern side of Australia is a sunny and peaceful place to begin your travels, and the city of Brisbane is an exciting and lively hub to explore first. You could take a ride through the city on the very last steam locomotive in Australia or even go on a helicopter pub crawl (try some of the local carrot beer; it’s delicious). The modes of transport are just as fun as the city itself. You could even take a trip out from Brisbane to explore some of the surrounding areas. After all, this is more than a vacation; this is a traveling experience. You could go on an adventure and try night kayaking off the shore of Moreton Island. You should also look into Fraser Island tours because this island is a fascinating place with heaps of things to see and do. You should go and see the stunning champagne pools whilst you’re on the island; these peaceful swimming holes that form along the coast of the island are just one of the many beautiful natural sights you’ll see on this island. And that’s only the start of what Australia has to offer in terms of natural beauty.

Sydney

Obviously, it wouldn’t be a trip to Australia without seeing Sydney. This famous city is loved across the world for a reason. Its iconic landmarks are well worth admiring in the flesh, but there’s more than surface-level beauty to this fantastic city. The mesmerizing Sydney Opera House isn’t just a pretty face; it puts on fantastic theatrical and musical performances throughout the year. You should try to get tickets for a show whilst you’re in the city. A visit to Sydney’s famous Harbour Bridge is essential too. It’s been standing proudly for the best part of a century, and it’s an architectural masterpiece. But this is only the beginning of what Sydney has to offer; you need to experience it for yourself.

Kakadu National Park

As lively as Australia’s city culture may be, it’d be a shame to miss some of the natural spectacles that this country has to offer. Some of the fantastic landscapes in the land down under are preserved in national parks, and Kakadu National Park is one of them. If you want to see an ever-changing landscape with stunning rock formations and an awe-inspiring coastline then this park is definitely worth the visit. It’s also home to a lot of history; Aboriginals spent centuries preserving this part of the world, and it’s up to us to continue doing so.
