Monday Morning Splash

Good Monday morning! I’m writing this blog post as I am sipping coffee at my favourite French bakery place, Yeast Bistronomy, in Kuala Lumpur. I’m here mainly for the pain au chocolat, my go-to comfort food ever since I lived across a cute little French bakery back in Vancouver. It’s been a while since I had one of these early productive mornings on a Monday; and since I have 2 hours to spare until my next appointment, I thought, why not update you guys about what I’ve been up to?

1. A new job

After almost 8 months of freelancing and doing random stuff like drawing henna for others, I finally decided to move back into the workforce. I’m very fortunate to be connected to the lovely founders of Splenday Asia, and have decided to join their team to continue my career in content creating. I’ll update you guys more about the company after I start working.

2. A new move

With a new job comes a new move. Yeap, despite my previous bad experience living in Kuala Lumpur that led to mental health issues, I’ll be moving back to the same city. With a better idea of what I want to do in life, a job that is moving in that direction, and friends to stay with me, I have a good feeling about this move. I was up in the city the past weekend looking for places to stay, and was lucky enough to find a place I like in just one day. Lease signed, deposit paid. Next step is to move in after Christmas!

3. Finished a book!

As I travelled long distance in the past weekend, I started and finished another book that I’d like to recommend, The Noel Diary by Richard Paul Evans. I picked up this book as I wanted a light, festive themed fiction to read. This is a book about grace, love and forgiveness an author encountered, as he went back to his mentally-ill-turned-hoarder estranged mother’s place to clean up after her death.

4. (Finally) watched Stranger Things, Season 2

I managed to convince my nieces and sister to join me for a Stranger Things marathon last week and OH MY GOD I’M SO IN LOVE WITH THE CHARACTERS AGAIN URGHHHHH. ‘Nuff said, if you haven’t watched the show just go watch it already!

5. Ready for Christmas!

Now that I have a job in line and a place for my new move, I can finally relax and focus on Christmas. The Christmas tree in my place is up and my Christmas playlist has been on repeat. I don’t think I’ll be having any fancy Christmas celebration this year, all I know is that I’ll be celebrating with my family and that is all that matters.

Like I said, it’s been a while since I had an energetic Monday morning and I’m feeling so good about it. With the morning breeze on my face and the noise of people chattering in the background, I’m mindful and grateful for all that’s happening around me. Have a good week ahead everyone!

xx Wendy
