We all have that friend. The one who spouts music lyrics at every given opportunity while wearing their favourite band in t-shirt form. They’ve always got their headphones on and they’re constantly glued to the newest and greatest music out there. They’d work in music if they could and they play a medley of instruments. They’re always cornering you and recommending new songs and bands for you to listen to and if they don’t have tickets to the latest gigs of their favourites, it’s a bad day all round.
Now, it’s no secret that I’m a little bit like that friend. I am fuelled by music in my every day life. My Spotify 2017 wrapped music says that I listened to 52,672 minutes of music this year, that’s almost two and a half hours every day! I may not be a concert addict because I’m not rich like that, but I LOVE exploring different genres of music and recommending the good ones. I know how hard it is to get the perfect gift for a music lover, so I’m sharing with you a list of items you can get for the music lover in your life. P/s, this can be reference for those of you who can’t think of what to get me for Christmas or birthday too hahahahaha jk
Earbuds – Quality Earbuds
Any music lover out there needs a good pair of earphones to listen to their favourite bands in peace. While some prefer huge headphones that go over the top of the head, I personally prefer standard earphones as they don’t mess with my hair, especially during my workouts. They’re also more versatile and easy to travel with. I recently lost my Urbanears Kransen, and had been thinking of getting wireless ones like these. My only worry is that I’m going to lose them easily because I’m a careless person like that. ?
If you have that friend who has a huge medley of favourite songs, why not make them a mix of their own? You can duplicate the favourite discs of theirs with Nationwide Disc, and make a gift pack for your friend. You can also throw in t-shirts or other memorabilia without much effort. It’s a great gift for someone you love!
Oh yes, I can’t emphasis enough about how much I love my portable Bluetooth speaker! I was using a mini Philip grenade speaker before I made a switch to UE Boom, which turned out to be super awesome. I love how it’s small and portable, and yet the sound is big enough to resonate through a whole apartment. Depending on your budget and preference in music, here is a list of the best Bluetooth speakers in the market this year that you should totally check out (for your friend or even yourself)!
Any music fan who loves music technology will love this turntable as a gift. The sound of a record is often more authentic than a CD or iPod, although it is smoother and has been cleaned up of all scratches and imperfections. There’s just something so soulful about the music. While I haven’t had the chance to get my hands on any record or turntable yet, it’s definitely in my wishlist, especially since I watched the movie The Last Word earlier this year.
A Ticket Holder
Personalized box frames like these are perfect for the music lover who gig hops a lot (like my bestie Kendall, wink wink). They can display their ticket stubs beautifully in the frames, and still keep and protect them for life. Definitely a wonderful way to memorialize their concert journey!
Gift-buying is not easy, but if you focus on what the recipient really loves, you won’t really screw it up. Specific bands, records or memorabilia that they love make perfect gifts; it also shows that you observe and you care. Happy gift shopping and happy holidays! xx
